Email Campaign Report Glossary

Campaign - An individual email campaign that has been sent to a list or list segment. Each campaign has a corresponding ID and row within the Email Campaign Reports

Emails Sent - The number of emails sent in a campaign. Emails Sent corresponds to the number of valid email addresses within the associated list.

Beacons - The number of unique opens in a particular campaign from users with images turned on. In order to track opens, emails must contain a beacon.

Confirmed Opens - The minimum number of users who definitely opened the email, based on taking the users who opened with images turned on, plus the users who did not have images turned on, but did click.

Est Opens - An estimation of the total number of users who opened the email, regardless of whether they had images turned on. (This estimate is based on the ratio of opens to clicks, but only for users with images turned on. That ratio is then multiplied by the total number of users who clicked.) This is Sailthru's best-guess metric of the percentage of your audience that is actually reading your email.

Clicks - The number of users who have clicked at least one link within the campaign. In order to track clicks you must have selected link-tracking within the basics tab of your blast or template editor.

Purch - This metric is available for those making a purchase call on our API, revenue from purchases will be tracked and reported in this column.

PV - Pageviews. For clients who have Horizon on their websites, PV indicates pageviews generated from interaction with a particular email.

Rev/M - Revenue generated per thousand impressions. This metric is available for clients who are selling ads against pageviews (also known as RRM or CPM), or who have implemented the purchase API call to track purchases. Clients may define the value per thousand pageviews on the settings page of their account.

Hardbounce - A failed delivery of an email due to a permanent reason such as a non-existent address. Hardbounces are automatically removed from your valid list and will not be mailed to.

Softbounce - A report of a delivery problem or failed delivery. Among other reasons, messages may soft bounce at the server level, because of a resource exhaustion such as a full disc, or because of spam filters. A softbounced message may eventually be delivered and Sailthru makes redelivery attempts of softbounced messages. If you'd like to learn more about non-delivery messages and email protocol, you can read more here.

Spam Report - the number of times a blast has been been reported as spam by users.

Engagement - User engagement levels
